Mason City man killed in auto accident

PLAINFIELD – James Ruehlow of Mason City, a finish roller operator at Heartland Asphalt, died Thursday morning in an accident near Plainfield in Bremer county. His tanker truck was involved in a collision with a teenage driver from Waverly. He died at the scene and an investigation is underway.

James, age 37, grew up in Mason City and has a twin brother, Mark, whose parents still live in town.

James’ Facebook page was flooded with condolences in the hours after news spread of the accident that claimed his life. James was known as a kind man who helped his friends.
