10 arrested for alcohol violations during Iowa Hawkeye football game

IOWA CITY – University of Iowa police arrested 10 individuals during the Iowa Hawkeye football game against Ball State, some with extremely high blood alcohol levels.

UI Police issued the following number of citations:

Open Container in Public Citations: 10
Public Consumption of Liquor: 0

The following individuals were arrested during football game day operations:

Gaddis, Alex Lee, 20 of Iowa City, IA for Public Intox at Kinnick Stadium at 1334 hours. Gaddis was stumbling through Gate A. Gaddis had slurred speech and poor balance. Gaddis refused PBT.

Johnson, Shawn Eugene, 31 of Cedar Rapids, IA for Public Intox at Kinnick Stadium at 1420 hours. Johnson had slurred speech and blood shot eyes. Johnson was asked to leave the stadium or go to jail. Johnson said he would leave, but continued to argue with the officer. Johnson refused PBT.

Seibert, Daniel Paul, 42 of Burlington, IA for Public Intox and Interference With Official Acts at Kinnick Stadium at 1440 hours. Seibert was arguing with another male. Seibert started arguing with the officer. Seibert was ejected from the game and he continued arguing with the officer. Siebert admitted drinking. During arrest Seibert pulled his hand away from the officer as the officer was placing him in cuffs. Seibert blew .112 PBT.

Weber, Travis Allen, 27 of Jesup, IA for Public Intox at Kinnick Stadium at 1440 hours. Weber was asked to leave the stadium. Weber could not stand on his own. Weber had slurred speech. Weber re-entered the stadium at another gate. Weber blew .218 PBT.

O’Connor, Jaccob Daniel, 20 of Iowa City, IA for Public Intox at Kinnick Stadium at 1459 hours. O’Connor was vomiting in the stands. O’Connor smelled strongly of ingested alcohol and could not stand. O’Connor refused medical attention. O’Connor blew .160 PBT.

Griebel, Lee David, 44 of Adel, IA for Public Intox at Kinnick Stadium at 1526 hours. Griebel was sitting near a garbage can with vomit on his shorts and a pile of vomit near him. Griebel admitted drinking beer. Griebel had slurred speech and had unsteady balance. Griebel blew .222 PBT.

Winans, Nolan Donald, 44 of Vinton, IA for Public Intox at Kinnick Stadium at 1549 hours. Winans fell into a railing then onto the ground. Winans had blood shot, watery eyes and had slurred speech. Winans blew .309 PBT.

Price, Amy Marie, 25 of North Liberty, IA for Public Intox at the Hospital, Boyd Tower, exterior at 1542 hours. Officers were called for a welfare check on Price. There was a pile of vomit in front of her. Price had slurred speech and poor balance. Price blew .210 PBT.

McElmeel, Mitchell, 19 of Iowa City, IA for Public Intox at UIHC at 1452. McElmeel was found passed out at an entrance of the hospital. McElmeel had slurred speech and poor balance. McElmeel blew .239 PBT.

Bangs, Kathleen, 18 of Chicago, IL for Public Intox at Mayflower Hall, exterior at 1711 hours.
