MASON CITY – The recently-opened CherryBerry self-serve Yogurt Bar is a big hit with people of all ages.

Located at 2468 4th St SW, in between Hobby Lobby and Hy-Vee West, it has a steady stream of shoppers looking to cool off with a bowl of their Yogurt.

With 12 different flavors of frozen yogurt, 20 dispensers of dry toppings and 18 toppings at the cold bar, everyone can make their own creation.

You start out by deciding which size cup or if you want, a waffle bowl. Next, you get to pick your favorite flavor or flavors of yogurt. There’s everything between white chocolate and double chocolate (chocoholics), and between red velvet, birthday cake and serbert.

Remember not to fill the bowl too full with yogurt, you need to leave room for the dry toppings. Some examples are Heath, M&M, Gummy Worms, graham cracker, Oreo, chocolate rocks and Reeses. Then the cold bar comes where you can add cheese cake squares, whipped cream or whatever else you choose.

The bright lime green and red decor makes the room fun and exciting. A wide screen TV with couches and cushioned chairs makes the place relaxing and comfortable. It is a very family friendly environment.

The Hines family was at CherryBerry and enjoyed their experience. Jeff, and his wife Meredith brought their children Isaac, Julia and baby Charlie to try out the yogurt. They were about done, “We have a lively bunch, we’re a walking mess, but we enjoyed the ice cream (yogurt),” said Meredith.

“It’s kind of hard to judge what we’re going to spend,” said Jeff. “I wasn’t surprised at the cost, it wasn’t bad. It is a fun, learning experience on how you want your yogurt.”

Once your done filling your bowl, you take your finished creation to the weighing station and cashier. They weigh it for you and let you know what you owe.

Another fan of CherryBerry Yogurt Bar is Patty Roof, “I just love it. My daughter, Robbie and I would go everyday after she gets out of school, if we could. Best day ever is when your at CherryBerry.”

CherryBerry is not just a summer yogurt store, it will be here year around.

$6 for a medium? Hehehehehe

One born every minute.

Great advertisement… uh I mean article. I agree, tried it once to get a “medium” ice cream. Thought I was being conservative and it was $6! They have these stores franchised all around… once the new wears off, it’ll be tough. The new Starbucks inside Hy-Vee West is actually a cheaper choice

It’s good, but very expensive!

Expensive compared to what?

Looks good.
