ALLAMAKEE COUNTY, IOWA – A Wisconsin man rolling through Iowa on his Harley-Davidson Road King Classic touring motorcycle tragically was killed when he struck a deer in the roadway.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place on May 31, 2025. At about 8:43 AM that morning, 64-year-old Daniel M. Fisher of Salem, Wisconsin, was riding his FLHRCI Harley-Davidson Road King Classic touring motorcycle northbound on Highway 76 in Allamakee county, near mile marker 42, when he struck a deer. According to the Patrol, he lost control of the bike and was ejected. The bike ended up in a ditch.
As a result of the collision, Fisher was killed and pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to an obituary, “Dan was a man of many careers and talents – an entrepreneur, a baker, a teller, a landscaper, a consultant, a writer, a photographer, a salesman; he could do it all and was darn good at it too.”
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by VMH Ambulance, Waukon fire department, Allamakee medical examiner, Allamakee county sheriff, and Danny Mac’s Towing.
