MASON CITY – A Mason City man arrested numerous times for public intoxication was arrested late Wednesday on the same charge.

Jeffery Donald Eliason, age 50, was picked up by Mason City police at the 000 block of North Adams Avenue Wednesday evening at about 10:30 PM and booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail shortly thereafter. He is charged with aggravated public intoxication and is being held on $2,000 cash or surety bond.

On the afternoon of May 7th, police were called to Central Park after a report of an allegedly drunk individual who was said to be lying on a bench there. Eliason was arrested and charged with public intoxication. That same day, he pled guilty instead to an amended charge of consumption of alcohol in a public place. He was assessed $363.00 but has yet to make a payment.

Earlier this year, Eliason pled guilty to aggravated misdemeanor third offense public intoxication. He was sent to jail for 90 days and assessed $5,037.73 in fines and fees, but has never made a payment on that balance.
