CHARLES CITY – About a year ago, a person got behind the wheel of a stolen pick-up truck in Charles City and caused thousands of dollars in damages, but no charges were ever filed.

Charles City police confirmed today that they brought no charges after an on-going investigation into an incident that took place on July 9, 2013.

Police said that on that day, they took a report of a stolen 2012 Ford 350 truck at the 500 block of South Jackson Street. The truck was registered to Travis Hobert of Charles City. The truck struck several stop signs and a mailbox on the south side of Charles City. The vehicle also struck a 2013 Chevy truck owned by Joel Forsyth parked in the 1100 block of Hildreth Street. Police went on to say that the “stolen” vehicle also rammed a 2008 Pontiac G6 registered to Brittany Schriever and Trent Parker of Charles City. The suspect also drove the truck through several yards. The truck was later recovered in a yard at the intersection of 9th Street and Cedar Street. Police estimated damage to be at $18,000 and was under investigation, but, again, they confirmed today that no charges were ever brought.

Must have been SOLE or FOLE to be sure. That’s son of law enforcement or friend of law enforcement. The average person usually gets a stack of charges for the jury to consider.
