ADEL – An Iowa teacher accused of sex crimes involving students was sentenced to 10 years in prison today in a Dallas county courtroom.

Former Urbandale seventh grade language arts school teacher Benjamin J. Hoffman was arrested last year and charged with 11 counts of sex abuse, sexual exploitation by a school employee, and two counts of providing alcohol to a minor.

Hoffman, age 24, admitted in court Friday to having sex with two students, connected to two counts of felony C third degree sexual abuse. Judge Brad McCall handed down two 10-year prison sentences to Hoffman.
