MASON CITY – The City of Mason City has scheduled opportunities for prospective buyers to view eight houses that will be offered for auction on May 12, 2014.
810 6th Street N.W., 1411 Meadowbrook Drive, 1417 Meadowbrook Drive will be open for viewing on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
A walking tour of the five properties to be auctioned in East Park Place will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday May 3, 2014. The properties include 645 7th St NE, 672 7th St N.E., 707 N Carolina Place, 714 N. Carolina Place, and 729 N Carolina Place. The tour will begin at 11:00 AM. Bidders wishing to view the homes should meet in front of 645 7th St. NE. The tour is expected to take about 1 ½ hours.
Persons attending either the open house or the walking tour should be aware that these houses have been boarded up and there is no power or artificial lighting available inside. In addition, the houses are not handicapped accessible. Attendees should be aware of their own physical limitations. Everyone is encouraged to wear appropriate footwear and bring their own flashlight. Anyone entering these houses is doing so at their own risk.
All eight properties are being auctioned on May 12, 2014 @ 5:30 P.M. in the 2nd Floor Conference Room of City Hall. The structures must be moved off of the sites by September 9, 2014.
