MASON CITY – Police are seeking clues in an apparent burglary at Godfather’s Pizza restaurant.

Mason City police were dispatched to Godfather’s on July 22nd at 5 AM for a burglar alarm. Officers arrived and verified someone had forced entry into the business.

Police immediately requested that the “red box” be brought to the scene. The “red box” refers what some officers began calling “old fingerprint kits” which were carried in “red tool or tackle boxes.”

“Now, we have several in all types of colors, shapes, etc but red box refers to a fingerprint or crime scene processing kit,” said officer Mike McKelvey.

The case is still under investigation and no charges have been filed, police said.

The Mason City Police Department requests any info the public has regarding this burglary be reported to police at 641-421-3636.
