Forest City, Iowa – On Saturday, May 18, Waldorf College’s Theatre Company will host a Trivia Night as a fundraiser for its upcoming summer tour. The ten-round competition starts at 7 p.m. in Waldorf’s Atrium and is open to the community.
Trivia teams may have up to eight players, and the cost to play is $100 per team. According to the event organizer and director of the Theatre Company Dr. David Sollish, trivia categories for the event will be wide andvaried, from entertainment and sports to science and history and everything in between.
Doors open at 6 p.m. with an informal social hour. Players can purchase 50/50 raffle tickets and bid on silent auction items. While players can bring their own (non-alcoholic) refreshments, various snacks will be available to purchase in Warrior Crossing Café from 6 to 10 p.m.
Teams also have the option of purchasing mulligans before competition begins. Because unanswered trivia questions count against the team, a mulligan can be used to fill the blank space on the answer sheet without the team losing points.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams, with first place winning $250, second place $150, and third place $100.
Money raised at Trivia Night will help fund the Theatre Company’s three-week tour across the Midwest. May 19 through June 7, the Shakespeare troupe will present The Tempest in schools, parks, and theaters. Tour stops include Des Moines,Minneapolis, Chicago, and Detroit, as well as Mason City, Clear Lake, and Forest City, among others.
