MASON CITY – NIT was asked Monday morning to follow up on reports that a person was stabbed on the city’s North End earlier Monday.
At this time, information points to person voluntarily reporting to Mercy Hospital Monday morning at about 3:52 AM with a self-inflicted wound and no assault from another person took place.
Police were called to assist security at Mercy at 3:55 AM and 5 officers responded. The last officer finally left the scene at 5:32 AM.
The injured person’s name was not included in a police report.
