DURHAM, N.C., Feb. 14 (UPI) — Mason Plumlee scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds Wednesday, powering top-ranked Duke to a 73-68 victory over North Carolina.
Quinn Cook turned in an all-around performance of 18 points, five rebounds and four steals as the Blue Devils (22-2, 9-2 ACC) reeled off their sixth straight win.
The Tar Heels (16-8, 6-5) lost the game at the foul line, managing to connect on only 9-of-17 free throws down the stretch.
P.J. Hairston netted 23 points and hauled down eight rebounds as North Carolina dropped a second straight.
