Powerful Republicans set to visit Mason City Sunday

Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana speaks to a crowd in Mason City’s Central Park on Wednesday, September 26th, 2012.

MASON CITY – The Cerro Grodo County Republican Party announced late Friday that four powerful Republican politicians will be visiting Mason City on Sunday.

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, US Representative Marsha Blackburn from Tennessee, Senator Jim Talent from Missouri and Senator John Thune of South Dakota will be at the Republican “Victory Headquarters” located at 1314 4th Street SW Sunday at 12:20 PM.

Governor Jindal was in Mason City on September 26th in support of ousting Iowa Supreme Court Justice David Wiggins.  Jindal gave a rousing speech that day condemning President Barack Obama and Wiggins.

Jindal’s visit Sunday is just the latest in a series of high-powered pol’s venturing to North Iowa leading up to Tuesday’s Presidential election.

Former President Bill Clinton was in Mason City earlier this week.

Jindal talks about states rights and small government. Wants less regulations on business but during the BP oil spill he was on tv every night complaining about the federal government not paying the fisherman to help clean up the mess. Bobby your state could have been writing those checks and putting the boats in the water to help your state but you chose to get on the federal welfare line just like the people you claim to despise. Take your hypocritical bull crap back to Louisianna!

It really irritates me that these people come in here during an election year. We had people from Chicago running around our neighborhood telling us how to vote. If for no other reason I would vote for the other guy just because of that. They want nothing to do with Iowa and even make fun of our backwards ways until they need us. Bull Crap.

They should just stay at home. We are more than capable of making up our own mind without having someone from another state telling us how to vote. It doesn’t matter if it is Republican or Democrat, just stay home.
