Summer fun continues all day in Hampton

HAMPTON – Join us for the fun all day Saturday in Band Shell Park, Hampton (right on Highway 3 downtown).   Many Greater Franklin County Chamber volunteers have joined together to make this weekend even more special than last year.  You‘ll see fashion and dance shows, hear live and karaoke music, dunk local celebrities, eat in the ice cream eating contest, play bingo, watch the kids in the pedal pull and pet and kiddie show, toss a bean bag and jump on the inflatables.

“We’ve lowered the inflatable prices this year with the goal of making it affordable for all families to come and have fun.  You can get one wristband for $10 and each wristband after that is only $5, per family.  There are new inflatables and lots of fun in store” said Eric Christianson of Jaspersen Insurance and Real Estate and Summerfest Co-Chair.  You’ll be able to purchase your wristbands beginning Saturday morning.

This year the Summerfest Car Show is included in the weekend.  Saturday the cars will be parked all around Band Shell Park and vying for 50 The Best of Summerfest awards.  Best of awards are also being given out for classes Truck, Bike, MOPAR, Ford, GM and Street Rod. Norm Holm returns as Master of Ceremonies for the day.

At noon on Saturday KLMJ 10th Anniversary Antique Tractor Ride will park their tractors south of the Senior Center and stop for a bite to eat.  This year, the tractor ride will start in Clarion and go to Dows, Coulter, Hampton, Latimer, Alexander, Lake Cornelia, and back to Clarion.  Last year there were close to 100 tractors in the Ride.  There are vendors selling food on the east side of the park.   “Pizza, burgers and hot dogs, barbeque, Greek food and Norm Rites – lots of choices!” said Kimmy Spurgeon of Pamida and Summerfest Co-Chair.

Saturday enjoy a sing-a-long with Dawn Groszkruger, Two Juhls and a Gem and closing the event are the Whitesidewalls, a favorite of many in Greater Franklin County.
