Betty L. Anderson, 94, of Clear Lake, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Concord Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 29th at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St., Garner with Kevin Hadley officiating. Burial will be at Concord Township Cemetery.

Betty Larilla Anderson, the daughter of John and Galya (Walkner) Schisel, was born March 17, 1931, in Garner. She graduated from Garner High School in 1949. After high school, she worked in the county treasurer’s office. On September 12, 1952, she was married to Merrill E. Anderson at her parents’ home in Garner followed by a reception at Hull’s Cafe. While Ed served his country in the US Navy Betty remained in Garner. Following his honorable discharge, Betty and Ed moved to Minnesota and later Des Moines before settling in Clear Lake. She worked at Wausau Homes in Clear Lake, painting and wallpapering homes. Betty was also employed at Verna’s Dress Shop in Clear Lake. She enjoyed reading and working on crossword puzzles.
She was a member of the Clear Lake United Methodist Church.
Betty is survived by two sisters-in-law, Jean and Linda Schisel of Garner; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill; her parents; a sister, Mavis (John) Peterson; five brothers, Jack (Bessie), Larry, Bob, Elling and Gary Schisel; and two nieces, Jodi Schisel and Julie Montag.
