Renae Brakke Clark passed away in Prescott, AZ August 7, 2024, at the age of 83.
Renae was born to Bob and Ruby Brakke, March 6, 1941. Raised on a farm south of Lake Mills, IA, Renae attended Lake Mills Schools, graduating in 1959. After graduation, Renae attended Minneapolis Business College completing their business course. She was employed by an architectural firm, Edward Baker and Associates, Minneapolis, MN as an administrative assistant. At the time of her employment, Edward Baker designed the NorthStar Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
She was employed by Baker and Associates until she married, Larry Clark in 1966, and moved to Auburn, Washington. Her daughter, Robin Clark Everly, was born April 14, 1967, in Auburn, Washington. Renae and Robin moved to Forest City, IA and she was employed in administrative and secretarial positions with Winnebago Industries. She remained in Forest City, IA until she and Robin relocated to Colorado in 1975.
While living in Colorado, she was employed in administrative and meeting planning positions with Storage Technology in Louisville, CO until 1996. She then joined her significant other, Leon Gay, at the Flaming Gorge in Wyoming. Leon and Renae wintered at the Caliente Resort, Florence, AZ. In 2017, after Leon’s passing, Renae resided in their Caliente home in AZ. In 2020, Renae moved to Prescott, AZ to be close to her childhood friend, Carol Rusley Miller.
Her daughter, Robin Clark Everly, predeceased her in 2021.
Interment will take place in Winnebago Lutheran Cemetery, rural Lake Mills, in July of 2025.
