Robert C. Duhrkopf, 90, of Sumner, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Hillcrest Home in Sumner.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Private family inurnment will be at Union United Methodist Church Cemetery, rural Sumner. Becker & Son Funeral Home in Sumner is assisting Bob’s family.
Robert Carl, son of Donald and Verna (Moos) Duhrkopf was born January 7, 1935, in Sumner. He received his education in the Sumner Schools and graduated from Sumner High School in 1953. On November 2, 1952, he was united in marriage with Marlys Siegfried at the Little Brown Church, near Nashua. To this union five children were born, Jeff, Mike, Joline, Kristy, and Jacqui. Bob began his professional career working on a farm near Ackley, prior to working at Paul Niemann Construction in Sumner and began working at REC in March of 1958 until his retirement in January of 1997. Following retirement, Bob worked at Meadowbrook Country Club for many years. He served on the Sumner Volunteer Fire Department from 1969-1984, was a Scout Master, long time member of Faith Evangelical Church in Sumner and was involved the local Jaycees. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, gardening and attending his grandkids’ sporting events.
Bob is survived by his children, Jeff (Lisa) Duhrkopf of Sumner, Mike (Judy) Duhrkopf of Sumner, Joline (Kevin) West of Milford, Kristy (Rod) Toussaint of Sumner, and Jacqui Hallock of Dade City, Florida; sixteen grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn (Bill) Nauholz of Sumner; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marlys; grandson, Jake Duhrkopf and brothers and their spouses, Don (Bettie) Duhrkopf and Jim (Betty) Duhrkopf.
