Darlo Scott Ahrens, son of Carl and Vera (Koehler) Ahrens, was born on July 16, 1957, in Estherville, Iowa. He passed away on March 13, 2025, at U of M Hospitals surrounded by his family at the age of 67.
Darlo graduated from Estherville High School in 1976 and lived in the area his entire life. He retired from AGCO in January 2024 after working there for 31 years. Darlo loved his family, travel, farming, and supporting Iowa Hawkeye athletics. He was jack of all trades with a willingness to help his friends. As Entertainment Director & Grill Master at the U-Turn Bar in Dunnell, he loved to have a cold Budweiser and a good conversation.
Darlo is survived by his children, Alicia and Philip Lavin, Ashley Ahrens (Dustin Robertson), and Tyler Ahrens, along with grandchildren Hali and Blaize Ahrens and Hayden and Riley Robertson. Along with his siblings and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Vera Ahrens and brother, Larry.
In lieu of flowers, Darlo requested memorial contributions to Friends of Estherville FFA.
