OBIT: Carol M. Schulz

Funeral Service for Carol Schulz will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Oakcrest Funeral Services in Wesley. Burial will follow at the Corwith Cemetery in Corwith. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Hancock County Food Bank and St. Croix Hospice.

Carol Maxine was born in Orthel Township, Hancock County, near Britt on January 20, 1928, to Lyal and Anna (Sillman) Fox. She attended rural school in Orthel Township and graduated from Britt High School in 1945. She taught in rural one-room school for four years.

She was married to Harlan Nuehring on June 5, 1948, at Prairie Center Methodist Church northwest of Britt. To this union, three daughters, Peggy, Patricia, and Donna were born. Carol lived on a farm southwest of Klemme for nearly 30 years. While living in Klemme, she was a 4-H leader, Junior and Senior Youth sponsor, member of the Women’s Fellowship of the Klemme United Church of Christ, charter member of the Klemme Potpourri Women’s Club, and Klemme Music Mothers. She was a substitute teacher several years at the Klemme and Garner public schools.

Carol married Chris Schulz on February 14, 1982, at Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ at Klemme. She moved to Corwith once she married.

In Corwith, she was a member of the Corwith Women’s Club and the United Methodist Women and held the treasurer’s office for many years, a past-president of Hancock County Women’s Club, was in a 500-card club, and a birthday card club.

Carol enjoyed her grandchildren, step-grandchildren, golfing, bicycling, gardening, and wintering in Florida.

Carol made her home at Kentucky Ridge and then Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City, where she passed Monday, January 20, 2025. She was 97.

She is survived by her two daughters, Pat Anderson (Rick) and Donna Tiedeman (Doug), four grandchildren, four great-grand-daughters, three stepdaughters, Nancy Noack (Len), Renelda Riffe (Don) and Mary Swenson (Bruce), 13 step-grandchildren, 26 step-great-grandchildren, seven step-great-great-grandchildren and sister, Doris Schulz.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Chris, daughter Peggy Herring, brothers Earl and John Fox, sisters Imogene Schubert and Marjorie Snyder, stepsons Charles and Chris A. Schulz, step-grandsons Larry Schulz and Lennie Noack and step-great granddaughter Samantha Wellik.
