Jacqueline Kay Worley, 84, of Greene, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024, at the Rehabilitation Center of Allison. Jacky’s family will be hosting a Celebration of Life from 10:00 a.m. until noon on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mason City. She will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Greene at a later date. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory of Greene assisted the family with cremation.
Jacqueline was born April 12, 1940, daughter of Laverne and Avis (Barnett) Smith. She graduated from Greene High School. On August 21, 1981, Jacky was united in marriage to Roy Worley in Marble Rock, Iowa. Together this union, Roy and his son John, and Jacky and her son, Joseph, began their journey as a blended family.
Jacky had a diverse career journey, taking on various roles such as a secretary, florist, owner of a craft business, and consumer attendant. In addition to her professional endeavors, she was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mason City, where she contributed by playing the piano, reading scripture, and assisting with Sunday School activities.
Jacky was not only a talented cook who could create delicious meals from scratch, but she also embraced a variety of hobbies, including fishing, gardening, crafting, and traveling alongside Roy. She cherished her time spent with family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories through sleepovers and special “girls’ days.” Her creative spirit shone through her crafting and her annual participation in the Worley tradition of gingerbread house making and festive light displays, all while enjoying music, puzzles, board games, and her beloved collection of Barbies.
Jacky is survived by her sons: Joseph Worley of Greene and John (Karen) Worley of Greene; grandchildren: Ashley (Monty) Worley of Greene, Amy (Levi) Paulsen of Garner and Jonathan (Raeanna) of Mason City; great grandchildren: Kady, Kooper & Kruz Coake; Hayes & Ellis Paulsen and River & Journey Worley; honorary daughter Alice (Myron) Hearn of Hampton; brother Richard (Nancy) Reser of Bristow; sister-in-law Kay Schafer of Mason City; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Roy Worley; brothers: Gary Smith and Clark Reser; sister Nikki Heagle; sisters-in-law: Jerry, Dorothy, Lola and Mary Lou; brother-in-law Harold and nephew Jason Reser.
