Raymond Lee Guscette was born May 31, 1946 in Valley City, North Dakota, the son of Dwane E. Guscette and Evelyn (Bardell) Guscette-Rebhahn. Growing up in North Dakota, Raymond graduated from Wimbledon High School and in 1964 began his service in the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1967. On September 7, 1968 he married the love of his life, Judy Clementson and the couple was blessed with three children, Scott, Michele and Kylie. Raymond began work with Dunbar Kapple and later Christianson Systems, INC before venturing out on his own. His company, Grain Vacs, Inc. was built in Raymond’s garage before finding its home just outside Clear Lake. It was here Raymond was able to connect with countless farmers from all over and share his endless knowledge and problem solving skills.

Raymond was a true entrepreneur and the proud owner of his business, Grain Vac, INC. His gift for sales was matched only by his caring nature, always putting the needs of others first. During the busy season, he could often be found working alongside farmers in the fields, sharing his knowledge and expertise without a second thought. But Raymond wasn’t just a hard worker – he had a wicked sense of humor and loved nothing more than hitting the golf course or exploring new places with his loved ones. Though he could be stubborn at times, Raymond was always open to new experiences and cherished the time he spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a man who knew his own mind and wasn’t afraid to speak it, but above all else, Raymond was a devoted family man who treasured those he loved.

Surviving are his beloved wife of almost 55 years, Judy; children, Michele (Randy Pederson) Guscette and Kylie (Clint) Calease both of Garner; grandchildren, Desirae (Manny) Randle, Derek (Paige Wickert) Guscette, Samantha (Riley) Finer, Hunter McFerran, Triston McFerran, Quinton Pederson, Madelyn and Tateon Calease; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; daughter-in-law, Michelle (Spencer) Guscette-Etienne; siblings, Gile (Marge) Guscette, Jean (Tom) Bornemann, Jon (Delilah) Guscette, Jonell Guscette and Ava (Carey) Ost; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Preceding him in death are his parents; a son, Scott; brother, Gary Guscette and sister, Eileen (Robert) Cresap.
