Covid and pre-existing illness takes life of Iowa murderer in prison

IOWA CITY – Covid and pre-existing illness took the life of an Iowa murderer in prison since 1981.

David Allen Streets, was pronounced dead, likely due to complications related to COVID-19 and multiple preexisting medical conditions, at 9:48 a.m. yesterday, November 8, 2020 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He had been transported there from the Anamosa State Penitentiary recently due to declining health. Streets was 70 years old at the time of his death.

Streets had been serving a life sentence for the crime of Kidnapping 1st Degree and Murder 1st Degree from Scott County. His sentence began on June 11, 1981.
