IOWA CITY – An Iowa special teams player announced he will transfer out of the program.
University of Iowa football student-athlete Daraun McKinney has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, with the intention to transfer. The announcement was made Tuesday by head football coach Kirk Ferentz.
McKinney is a defensive back from River Rouge, Michigan. The redshirt freshman has seen action on special teams in Iowa’s three games, but has no statistics.
Last week, an Iowa running back and a linebacker announced they would leave the team.
Iowa travels to face Minnesota Friday (6:05 p.m., FS1) in the annual contest for Floyd of Rosedale.
