CEDAR RAPIDS – A woman shot Sunday in a Cedar Rapids domestic dispute, police say.
Cedar Rapids police officers responded to a shooting incident at Oakland Court and Gardens, 1500 Oakland Road NE, at 8:38 a.m. on Sunday, July 12. Officers arrived on scene to find a 23-year old female who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital.
Based on preliminary information, the victim and a 24-year old male were engaged in an argument. The male subject is believed to have shot the victim and fled the scene. He remains at large.
The incident appears to be a domestic-related disturbance and shooting. There is no update on the victim’s condition at this time.
The Police Department still has an active investigation.
