FORT DODGE – A man was stabbed at a Fort Dodge bar, leading to an investigation and arrest.
On Saturday, December 14 at approximately 10:50 PM, the Webster County Communications Center received a call in reference to a male that had been stabbed. Officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department, along with the Fort Dodge Fire Department, were dispatched to 16 North 7th Street, Kingz Lounge. When officers and medics arrived on scene, they located a 41‐year‐old male with a stab wound to his upper back.
Officers arriving on scene were quickly given information by witnesses as to what had occurred. That information indicated that an individual had been removed from the establishment, and once outside a physical altercation ensued with Kingz Lounge security staff. During that altercation, a staff member was stabbed once in the upper back. The victim was transported to Unity Point – Trinity Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
Approximately twenty minutes after the initial call, a suspect was located a short distance away based on information provided by witnesses at the scene. That individual, along with other witnesses, were taken to the Webster County Law Enforcement Center. As a result of the investigation to this point, two individuals were taken into custody on the following charges:
*Antonio Vallejo, 25‐years‐old of Humboldt ‐ Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury (D Felony)
*Esteban Huete, 24‐years‐old of Humboldt ‐ Assault (Simple Misdemeanor)
Both suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The investigation indicates that Mr. Huete and the victim were involved in the initial altercation, before Mr. Vallejo became involved and stabbed the victim.
The Fort Dodge Police Department is continuing to investigate this incident and encourage anyone with information to contact police.
