Northern Iowa man and woman die in auto accident

DUBUQUE – A Northern Iowa man and woman died in an auto accident Tuesday evening.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took Place on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 in Dubuque county. At 5:13 PM that evening, a 2013 Chevy Equinox driven by 20-year-old Miranda Lynn Held of Cedar Falls was traveling eastbound on Highway 20 in Dubuque county near the 300 mile marker. At this time, a sanitation vehicle owned by Kluesner Sanitation LLC of Farley, Iowa, driven by 32-year-old Adam Ray Linden of Sherrill, Iowa, was waiting to turn northbound on Old Castle Road. The Equinox attempted to pass vehicles in the turning lane and rear-ended the sanitation vehicle.

As a result, Miranda Lynn Held was killed, as was a passenger in the vehicle, 21-year-old Samuel Jon Linck of Cedar Falls.

The crash remains under investigation, the state patrol says.
