CLEAR LAKE – The hottest new sport in America is coming to Clear Lake as the resort community announced pickleball courts are nearly ready for play.
“Exciting news, everyone! Our pickleball court project is moving along smoothly,” according to an announcement from city hall. “We’re thrilled to share that the court surfaces are currently being painted.
“This brings us one step closer to enjoying our new courts. Thank you all for your patience and support throughout this process. We can’t wait to see the finished result!”
The courts are located across the street from the cemetery on N 20th Street, near the tennis courts.
Pickleball is very much like tennis and ping pong mixed together and is sweeping America. Elderly people enthusiastically play the sport and become very territorial about which court they play on. They will often selfishly scold youthful players to leave “their” preferred court. They also grunt loudly and talk a lot while they play.
