NIACC wrestlers fall to Iowa Lakes, 44-5

ESTHERVILLE – The No. 6 Iowa Lakes wrestling team topped NIACC 44-5 in an ICCAC dual meet Wednesday night.

Iowa Lakes won seven of the eight contested matches.

The lone NIACC win came from 125-pounder Arie Reyes (2-8). Reyes claimed a 22-5 technical fall over the Lakers’ Christian Nichols.

The Lakers picked up falls from top-ranked David Hollingsworth at 157 pounds and fourth-ranked Bumni Smith at 174 pounds.

NIACC returns to action Jan. 18 at the University of Nebraska-Kearney duals.

125 – Arie Reyes (N) tech. fall Christian Nichols, 22-5; 133 – Avery Holder (IL) won by forfeit; 141 – Anthony Fisher (IL) won by forfeit; 149 – Tracy Davis (IL) tech. fall Zach Andrews, 16-1; 157 – David Hollingsworth (IL) pinned Quinn Murphy.

165 – Evyn Insalco (IL) tech. fall Xavier Judge, 15-0; 174 – Bumni Smith (IL) pinned Dakota Vance; 184 – Steven Raines (IL) dec. Reldon Miller, 5-3; 197 – Marcus Placide (IL) major dec. David Loeffler, 15-2; 285 – Andre Bissainthe (IL) dec. Zach Santee, 12-7.
