MASON CITY – A convicted felonious drunk driver from Mason City man has been sent to jail, again, for drunk driving.
Ryan James Viet, age 36 of Mason City, was arrested for drunk driving on May 5, 2017 by a Cerro Gordo deputy. He was later guilty of first-offense operating while intoxicated and sentenced to 2 days in jail and ordered to pay $1,966.00 in fines and court costs.
Viet was convicted of felony drunk driving back in 2003 after an arrest by Mason City police. After he was put on probation and later sent to residential facility, he violated his probation a number of times before he ended up in a state prison in Anamosa. He still owes Iowa courts $3,512.27, records show, in that case.
