MASON CITY – A Forest City woman who was arrested early Sunday morning on a serious assault charge and a drug violation explained the arrest later Sunday.
According to Mason City police, officers were alerted to two women engaged in a fight in front of Eleven nightclub in downtown Mason City at about 2:00 AM Sunday.
Officers arrested Christa Marie Westbrook, age 22 of Forest City on charges of serious assault and unlawful possession of prescription drugs. She was taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail and later released Sunday.
A Dumont woman, Sherry Dean, said Sunday on Facebook that the incident all began when Westbrook “was at eleven and her husband was kissing on some (black) girl by the bathrooms. She was flipping out.”
Westbrook responded by saying “My husband did nothing wrong, let’s get that straight. And yes (I) was looking too rough ! Lol but aye (I) messed up and (I) accept responsibility for my actions. And those “prescription drugs” were mine.. just didn’t have them in the bottle.”
Police said that after the incident, an employee of Eleven Lounge was notified of the Disorderly Premises / Nuisance Gathering ordinance violation.
Approximately 24 hours before the above incident, according to Mason City police, at 2:02 AM Saturday morning, an officer witnessed a fight in Commercial Alley behind the Eleven Lounge. Two subjects were arrested and taken to jail. An employee was notified of the Disorderly Premises / Nuisance Gathering ordinance violation. Bryce Albert Magner and Cody David Lugar, both of Mason City, were arrested.
