FOREST CITY – A Forest City man who brought a gun to the NIACC campus has been given a deferred judgement, even as he is guilty of committing a separate criminal mischief crime.

On May 26, 2017 at 11:16 AM, 21-year-old Andrew Jordan Knutson of Forest City was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief – 4th Degree by Forest City police. The arrest was made following a report of a burglary that was in progress at a residence on Winnebago Way, police said. He later entered a guilty plea and was ordered to pay $538.32 in fines and court fees.

Back on February 21, 2017, area law enforcement located Andrew Jordan Knutson on the NIACC campus in response to a welfare check. He was picked up and taken to Mercy Hospital East Campus without incident. A handgun was found in Knudtson’s car during a subsequent search. As a result, Mason City police charged Knudtson with felony carrying weapons on school grounds.

After a not-guilty plea back in April, Knutson plead guilty and was given a deferred judgement with three years of probation and $397.00 in court costs.

He is a special needs young man. Great family ! Hope he understands the severity of his actions !

Welfare check – sound more like a (set up ) to anyone with an IQ over 50 or a typical HS grad from california.
