Remote Northern Iowa house raid nets young man’s high-powered rifle, drugs and thousands in cash

GRUNDY CENTER - Marijuana, mushrooms, prescription drugs, paraphernalia, thousands in cash and an AR-15 rifle for good measure were all confiscated in a remote Northern Iowa house raid that put a young man behind bars.

GRUNDY CENTER – Marijuana, mushrooms, prescription drugs, paraphernalia, thousands in cash and an AR-15 rifle for good measure were all confiscated in a remote Northern Iowa house raid that put a young man behind bars.

On Thursday, February 22, 2024, the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search warrant at 26107 Nickel Avenue outside Grundy Center, Iowa. Grundy county deputies located over 2 lbs. of marijuana; drug paraphernalia; over $8,000 dollars in cash; unlabeled prescription drugs and a Rock River AR 15 weapon.

As a result of the investigation, the sheriff’s office arrested 20-year-old Carter Evan Jacobsen of Grundy Center on the following charges:

1. Two Counts of delivery or possession with the intent to deliver marijuana. (Class D Felony)
2. Two counts of possession of marijuana 1st offense. (Serious Misdemeanor)
3. Failure to affix a Drug Tax Stamp. (Class D Felony)
4. Three counts of possession of a prescription drug. (Serious Misdemeanor)
5. One count of possession with the intent to deliver phencyclidine mushroom. (Class C Felony)
6. Possession of drug paraphernalia. (Simple misdemeanor)

Jacobsen was booked into the Grundy County Jail and later had his initial appearance where his bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety.

Jacobsen later posted bond and was released from jail.
