Carnie who allegedly stole Clear Lake man’s wallet jumps bail

According to court records 25-year-old Corey David Tangman was arrested following the theft of a Clear Lake man’s wallet at Rumorz Bar in Clear Lake on June 27th and failed to appear at a scheduled arraignment on July 16th.

Corey Tangman had been charged with a serious misdemeanor count of 4th degree theft by the Clear Lake Police Department following the incident, where he allegedly tried to steal Todd Blodgett’s wallett. Police had transported him to Cerro Gordo County Jail where he was held on $2,000 cash or surety bond after an initial appearance on June 27th.

Records show 1st Call Bail Bonds posted the $2,000 surety bond on July 9th through Bankers Insurance Company.

On July 16th District Associate Judge Gregg Rosenbladt issued a statewide warrant for Corey Tangman after he failed to appear for his arraignment on the theft charge.

On July 17th District Associate Judge Gregg Rosenbladt ordered a bail forfeiture hearing for August 20th at 9:30am. At that hearing 1st Call Bail Bonds could have the surety bond forfeited unless Tangman surrenders himself or the bonding agent surrenders him to the courts.

The second man involved in the theft, 22-year-old Randale Lee Logan, who returned the wallet to Todd Blodgett pled guilty to one count of simple misdemeanor 5th degree theft pled guilty on June 29th. He was ordered to pay $60 court costs and a $125 law enforcement imitative surcharge. He was sentenced to three days in jail with credit for time served and not ordered to pay any fine in the case. He has paid nothing in the case and a computer generated court notice has been mailed to him regarding past due court fines and costs.

25-year-old Corey David Tangman remains wanted, but may only be arrested in the State of Iowa.

SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.
