GRINNELL – The NIACC men and women both won the distance medley relay at the Grinnell Invitational on Saturday.
The NIACC men won the event in 10 minutes, 43 seconds. The Trojans ran Jose Aguilera, Ethan Klasi, David Carter and Wal Khat.
The NIACC women also won the DMR in 13:31.90. The Lady Trojans ran Keisha Gonzague, Cassandra Bonsall, Cailey Weaver and Kendra Schmidt.
Also for the NIACC men, Khat won the 600 in a meet record time of 1:23.53 breaking the old mark of 1:24.14 by NIACC’s Trey Simons in 2015. Carter was second in the 600 in 1:25.11.
NIACC’s Blake Keller was third in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 15:43. NIACC’s Samuel Dean was ninth in 16:46.97.
Aguilera was sixth in the 800 (2:04.67).
The NIACC men’s and women’s track team continue their indoor seasons Feb. 10-11 at the South Dakota State Indoor Classic in Brookings, S.D.
