CHARLES CITY – Police in Charles City Wednesday thanked a host of volunteers for the overwhelming help they say they received in locating a young boy that was lost.
Charles City police say that at about 4:03 PM, the they were notified that a 10 year old boy did not come home from school. Officers located the last whereabouts of the boy as being in R Campground. As he was not found right away, the police department requested assistance from surrounding agencies.
“The amazing thing is that we got people from the Iowa State Patrol, Department of Natural Resources, Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Nashua Police, CC Fire, Floyd County Search and Rescue, Floyd FD, Nora Springs FD, Rudd FD, Colwell FD, Marble Rock FD, Rockford FD, AMR, members of the National Guard, CC School officials, and many more citizens,” police said. “It is amazing to know we live where so many people care about someone they don’t even know.”
The lost boy, Skyler, was found at about 7:47 PM and was been reunited with his family, police confirmed.
