MASON CITY – The Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health will be hosting a free bed bug information session open to the public on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the Health Department in the Liberty Room (1st floor of Mohawk Square Building).

This session will address how to look for bed bugs, what you should do if you find one, the treatment of an infestation, and how to prevent from bringing bed bugs into your home. No registration necessary.

There will also be a FREE bed bug training for homecare workers and individuals who work in the home environment on Friday, June 10th at 1PM at Lime Creek Nature Center. It’s very important that public health professionals know how to prevent the spread of bed bugs, whether it’s to other clients homes or their own home or workplace. It’s also very important to know how to help your client obtain proper treatment if they have bed bugs. Registration is required for this session. Please register by visiting https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/preventbedbugs.
