Riot at Nebraska prison leaves 2 inmates dead

jailTECUMSEH, NEBRASKA – Two inmates are dead and two guards injured after a riot This weekend at the Nebraska State Penitentiary.

According to Acting Warden Robert Madsen, at approximately 7:00 AM Saturday morning May 09, 2015, a series of inmate on inmate altercations occurred. Staff immediately intervened and appropriate medical care was provided to the inmates involved. Two staff were treated at a local hospital for minor injuries and released back to work.

It was decided to place the Penitentiary on lockdown status after the incident. All public activities including visits and volunteer events were cancelled at least through the weekend. Appropriate officials have been notified of the incident and an investigation has commenced.

According to multiple news reports now surfacing, more altercations occurred Sunday that resulted in the death of two inmates and the injury of another guard.

Let them kill each other. Take your time in stopping them. It is a lot cheaper for the taxpayers.

That saves the tax payers approximately $36000. a year per inmate.
