Police and bank warn of scam

osage iowa policeOSAGE – A North Iowa bank with several area branches, along with the Osage Police Department, warned Thursday of a scam attempt.

C US Bank and Osage police said there is a suspicious email being sent by what appears to be a scammer, and the bank is fielding calls from concerned customers.

“We have been receiving phone calls from people that have either received an email stating that their Apple Account has been suspended, or a text message stating that their Wells Fargo debit card has been compromised,” C US Bank said via social media this morning.

“Once opened, these messages are asking for personal information/PIN numbers. This is a scam,” the bank warned. Several apparent customers announced they had received the email.

C US Bank advised to “never give out your personal information through text or email. Delete the message if you receive it.”
