MASON CITY – Law enforcement stopped and arrested a man after receiving a report of a possible drunk driver.
Cerro Gordo county deputies were alerted to a possible drunk driver on April 5 at about 3:49 PM on the Avenue of the Saints south of Mason City. Deputies were able to locate the car near the westbound 183 mile marker and make the traffic stop at that location. After an investigation, the driver, 57-year-old John Fank of Walker, Iowa, was found to have an open container of alcohol and intoxicated. He was arrested on a charge of first offense operating while intoxicated and taken to the county jail for processing.
