Osage man pleads guilty to assault on nature trail

OSAGE – A convicted sex offender has now entered a plea deal related to a crime he committed on a nature trail and a separate burglary in June.

Dewayne Alan Bethke, age 48 of Osage, pled guilty on August 18 to assault causing bodily injury and third degree burglary. He awaits separate sentencing hearings in September, on the 16th and the 30th, respectively.

Osage police had investigated an assault on June 10 on a nature trail. The victim was a child who suffered minor injuries. On June 11th, 2014, a subject reported a burglary of several items from their residence that were then recovered at 314 Oak Street. Investigation by the officers resulted in charging Bethke with felony burglary.
