Convicted meth dealer back in jail

MASON CIY – He says he’s a born again Christian, and by the Grace of God, after numerous drug, assault, burglary and drunk driving charges, he served less than fifteen months of a ten year prison sentence for dealing meth before he was paroled and released. Now, he’s back in jail.

Paul Blake Dunbar, age 42, formerly of Mason City and now from Ames and working at a Village Inn restaurant, was picked up in Story county for allegedly violating his parole related to a 2011 guilty plea to one count of delivery of methamphetamine. Dunbar finally went to prison on a ten year prison sentence in August of 2012 and was paroled in February 2013. By December of 2013, Dunbar was accused of violating his parole in Story county, and an arrest warrant was issued. Mason City police finally caught up with Dunbar near the intersection of Penn Avenue and State Street on Monday afternoon and arrested him.

Dunbar was transported from the Cerro Gordo County Jail to Story county today, served with a warrant, and held on no bond.
