Clear Lake police investigate Ventura auto crash

At 6 minutes after 8:00 pm Sunday night (10/27/13) Clear Lake Police were summoned to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway #18 and Main Avenue in the City of Ventura. When they arrived they found that a truck driven by 62 year old Irene Faber of Kensett had t-boned a car driven by 84 year old Ernest Gales of Bode. Faber had been going north through the intersection when she struck the driver’s side of the Gale vehicle which was traveling westbound. Both drivers were transported by ambulance to the Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.

At the time of the collision there were two passengers in the vehicle driven by Irene Faber believed to be a grandchild and a friend. Ernest Gales’ wife, Helen Gales was riding with him. All of the passengers were treated at the scene and released.

The intersection of Highway #18 and Main Avenue in Ventura is controlled by a traffic light which was operating. No charges have been filed as of today and the accident remains under investigation. The Clear Lake Ambulance Service responded to the scene of the crash where they were assisted by the Garner and Mason City Ambulance Service. The Clear Lake and Ventura Fire Departments also assisted at the scene.
