RURAL CERRO GORDO COUNTY – Three people were injured Monday afternoon on a county road in a two-vehicle accident.
According to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, on Monday at about 1:31 PM, a red Ford F250 Super Duty pickup truck driven by Trent Charles Dight, 35, of Rockford was driving North on Warbler Avenue when it collided with a black 1992 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Jacque Jo Smith, 38, who was driving west on 170th Street.
The Dight vehicle entered the northwest ditch of the intersection and landed on the passenger side facing south. The Mason City and Rockwell Fire Departments used mechanical means to free Dight and his seven year old son, Dylan, from the pickup.
All three persons involved in the accident were taken to Mercy Hospital where they were treated and released for minor injuries.
