Washington, DC- Congressman King released the following statement after the non-partisan Government Accountability Office (GAO) released a report showing how ObamaCare could increase deficit spending by $6.2 trillion:
“President Obama repeatedly claimed that ObamaCare would be fiscally responsible and not add to the deficit, and his liberal allies in Congress went to work drafting up a bill full of cynical budget gimmicks and double counting to manipulate the bill’s official budget score,” said King. “As the GAO showed today and as I have said since the law’s passage, when you untangle the falsehoods and unsustainable provisions contained in ObamaCare and replace those with the realistic assumptions given to us by our government’s health care fund trustees and actuaries, its budget-busting impact becomes clear. I commend Senator Sessions for requesting this report.
Instead of bending the cost curve down, the health care bill bends the cost curve up, significantly adding to our nation’s already unsustainable debt trajectory. Today’s report should renew the effort to tackle this law before it tackles us.”

First of all you all should know Kings district and where’s he’s from. This place is like nowhere on earth. This region of Iowa is fervently religious to the core. A sort of new Christianity based on the Republican party. Kind of a FOX news Christianity. King fits right in with these radical religious right wing folks.

Many of the things in the Obama Care bill have not even kicked in yet, some have, but the bill will be fully in force in 2014. You will gradually see the effects on your life and insurance costs as things go forward and it is not a pretty picture.
The ultimate goal of this bill is to eliminate Insurance Companies, who know how to use an actuary table to access cost risk and totally replace that with a government run system.
I am not saying that nothing needs to be done about health care costs, but this is the wrong approach.

Oh my god. The report is based on “worse case scenario” points, as requested by that knuckle head Sessions.
That means if you take out the things that control costs, and the parts of it that actually cut spending, the deficit would go up.
You HAVE to research every word out of this guy’s mouth. He is one of the best natural born liars on earth.
Sessions wanted to know what would happen if they slash all the cost saving things – THAT’S where this report came from. Look it up.

I will not try to change your mind about Steve King, there is no way I would ever be able to do that, but calling him a liar is a little over the top. You can disagree with him as far as his politacal beleifs, but he is not a liar.
He is without a doubt a liar, John. He lies right to his constituents’ faces. I have seen him in person and watched him tell outright lies many times. He refuses to respond when called out on his lies or insults the person questioning him.
Please do not buy what this guy is selling. Over here in the western part of the state we’ve known what he is for a long time, but there are so many dyed in the wool hard line right wingers here that the sheer numbers keep electing him.
I hope he tries his hand at running for the senate, I really do. It will be our chance to get rid of him once and for all.

Again, I told you that I would not try to change your opinion of Steve King and I hope you appreciate that fact, on the other side of the coin, you will not change my opinion of him either. He has his facts in order, again, I didn’t try to change your feelings about him, don’t try to change mine.

Let’s start with this very article. He said “untangle the falsehoods and unsustainable provisions”… there are NO falsehoods and NO unsustainable provisions in this bill, as anyone who has read it can tell you. He’s lying.
He then goes on to pat himself on the back for being obstinate and commends his fellow obstructionist Jeff Sessions.
In reality, this report was crafted using “worse case scenario” assumptions. By leaving that little point out and pretending like this is the overall report by the GAO, he’s LYING.
And that’s what he does. He uses the old “when did you stop beating your wife” style of oration in order to make himself look like he’s our buddy. He is not. He is a shill for the tea party and has no interest in what is best for the citizens of his district.
Maybe king is a liar, I don’t know but what I do know is that he is a saint compared to obama. Obama gets caught redhanded in a lie and continues to lie to cover up his other lies.

How do you know that what he said is not true? Have you read the bill? All 2,700 pages? If so, I will start asking you some more questions, you better start reading because you are already going south with your statements.
I said it before and I’ll say it again – YES, I am very well versed on the bill. I have made it my personal goal to become educated on this law and have ALL the versions on my hard drive. I don’t make asinine statements I can’t back up, unlike you, John.
The bill should be renamed – Osama Obama cares only for his deadbeat voters and the rest will pay.
