CLEAR LAKE – Out of the early evening fog and unseasonably warm temperatures, lights illuminated the town of Clear Lake.
The Annual Parade of Lights was held Saturday night after a full day of activities for Christmas by the Lake.
During the day, the activities to enjoy were a petting zoo, pony rides, carriage and trolley rides, Dickens Characters, as well as Santa and Mrs. Claus.
For the Parade of Lights, there were people, people, people everywhere. Whether it was the weather, the lights, Santa, the Holiday Spirit or the Lighted Parade, it brought people out in droves.

“We are very happy with the turnout,” said the driver of the 1958 Ford Squad Car, that led the parade. “There are so many people, that’s great.”
The parade had everything for Christmas. The horse drawn carriage, the lights, Santa, music, elves, but no snow. Not your typical Iowa Christmas celebration. Even without the snow, or because of it, it had spirit of Christmas in everyone that were participating in the festivities.
The parade included Barbie and Barbie’s Car and Kelly Reynolds and her Dancing Horse, El Gato.
“We won’t be going to the park after-wards,” said Kelly, with her forever present smile and enthusiasm. “Fireworks and horses don’t mix well.” El Gato the Dancing Horse and his two back up dancers Huck and Tess were flowing in Christmas decor and happy to show off for the people.
