Mr. Anonymous: There are people out there who can help you. Look in the yellow pages under “anger management”. And I sincerely hope that you don’t have a conclealed/carry permit.
War of words only.
Mr. Anonymous: It seems I struck a nerve with you.
Your assumptions about my life are really irrelevant. I live my life as I see fit. And as for your comments, they mean nothing to me. Words on a screen, my friend. As long as you’re picking on me, you’re leaving someone else alone.
Mr. Barnes is living his life as he sees fit and did nothing wrong. The man is seriously hurt and his family is worried sick so why don’t you shut up and not make it worse for those that care about him.
I have never said Mr. Barnes was doing anything wrong. If you are going to make comments, it would be nice if you would be accurate, a little more courteous, and a lot more objective.
You Quoted Ride the bike, take the chance. Who really cares?” Tell me that is courteous. Then you throw in Amen for two families that are suffering. I’m sure the kid that hit him appreciates that but it doesn’t mean anything to the barnes family. My Grandma was driving a chevette when she was t-boned by a kid in a big four wheel drive pickup. She spendt 3 months in the ICU. If I had read on NIT how she should have been driving a bigger car because her injuries would have been less I would have gone nuts. I hear your opinion all the time at that is fine but their is a time and place for everything and now is not that time. If you said that to someone in person and it was a relative of mr. Barnes and he put you in the hospital would it be ok to get on the story and write Run your mouth, take the chance. Who really cares! I’m sure you and your loved ones would not like it any more than the Barnes family likes yours and others comments of the same.

2 hurting families in this terrible accident. Not an issue of who chooses to drive what. Just need to support the healing of these individuals and these families.
@dan-1st-“strong feelings on this accident?” Not really. My thoughts are, ride the bike, take the chance. I will save my compassion for those who deserve it. 2nd-“Why do I choose to stay anonymous?” Because I can. 3rd-Me “needing a soap box?” No. This site suits me fine. I try to be objective, rational, non-personal, non-insulting, and I still try to get my message across. How people choose to intrepret/react to that message is up to them. And as to surrounding ourselves with tons of metal, it would be difficult to drive in January, 10 degrees above zero, 20 mph wind with snow coming down. Have a nice day.
@a citizen flying, driving cars and walking across the street are all dangerous. The problem is people like you seem to only make these comments when bikers are injured. More people die and are injured in cars than bikes but you never post on those stories offending their loved ones. If you people want to live in a plastic bubble because it is safe go right ahead but save your biased opinions against those of us who live our lives to the fullest. I bike, ski, hunt, Snowmobile, play sports all of which can be dangerous and I have been injured doing this but I only have one life to live and I won’t be stuck in a bubble with my keyboard anonymously picking on people who choose to be active. I’m sure the old guy who got hit by a car is waiting for you to tell him how dangerous it is to cross the street.
Praying for healing for the 2 families suffering.
Amen to that.

I totally agree with you if that were the case…which it was not. The young man’s phone was not even working and he had to yell at someone to call 911. This was a terrible accident but there was not phones, alcohol or drugs etc. involved. This young man is the kind of guy you would want to have for a son. He is very worried about the motorcycle rider and mentally he is very stressed. He is not like the yahoos running around…he is kind and caring. He prays for the other victim (he is a prayerful young man) all the time.
Riding a motorcycle is inherently dangerous. If a person chooses to ride one, he/she willingly takes the risk and chance of whatever happens. Compassion is all right in its place, but if he would have been in a car, his injuries would probably have been a lot less.

Lets turn this around abit and look at it from another perspective. His injuries would have been minimal or none at all if he had been driving a 18 wheeler. When you drive any vehicle you take the chance/risk of something happening to you.
We’re comparing motorcycles v cars. Let’s keep the comments on track here, ok? This is one of the things that make comments so irritating. People ignoring the subject discussed and going off on some tangent totally unrelated to the issue at hand. Motorcycles v cars, it’s not all that difficult.
a citizen, I don’t think that I “went off” on some tangent. It sounds like you are one of those motorcycle haters and the sound they make. You made a comment comparing cars to motorcycles, I think, in defense of the car driver. I made a comment about 18 wheelers in defense of motorcycle riders. If you had ever rode one more then once you would know what I’m referring to. When you get into a 2-6 thousand pound vehicle, you become the operator of a killing/maiming machine. If you don’t pay attention to what your doing and drive carefully, things like this happen. I wonder what your comments would be if John had been driving an 18 wheeler and the young man turned in front of him. Pontiac 3000 lbs. vs Harley Davidson 750 lbs.
But John wasn’t driving an 18-wheeler when the young man turned in front of him. Again, motorcycles v cars, which is what the accident consisted of. Keep it to the point and let’s not let your imagination run rampant here. And as someone once mentioned in another motorcycle accident addressed here “Ride the bike, take the chance. Who really cares?”
Take care John, You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. Get well Barnzy, Your old Kraft buddy. Orville

Sorry Dan, I wasn’t trying to imply that your brother didn’t get hurt, just commenting on what I had read above. I thought to myself that from the way the car looked, he was lucky that he didn’t get seriously hurt, but from what you say he did. Hopefully he makes a full recovery. On another note, whats with the blanket in the car window, was it there before the accident.
Side curtain airbags.
Oh, I’m sorry that I didn’t see your 8″ headlight, I was talking on my cell phone or texting, or whatever it was, I can’t remember.
Thankfully the motorcycle rider is up walking around, by the looks of the car it could have been much worse.
