DNR Enforcement Action: Golden Grain fined

From the Iowa Department of Natural Resources:

The DNR has taken the following enforcement actions.

Cerro Gordo County
Golden Grain Energy, LLC, Mason City
Comply with the requirements of its air quality construction and Title V operating permits and pay $5,750 penalty. Of that penalty amount, $4,312 may be paid to the Cerro Gordo County Conservation Board as a supplemental environmental project.

Responsible parties have 30 days to appeal the order or 60 days to pay the penalty.

Golden Grain Energy is a privately-held company dedicated to adding value to northern Iowa’s corn production by turning locally-grown corn into clean-burning ethanol, its Facebook page says.

It is located at 1822 43rd Street SW.

its odd that you put this up the day that there was an explosion in one of the grain legs above the cement silos. you can even see the crane above the silos there to help replace the explosion doors. coincidence?
