MASON CITY – Around 5:30 PM Wednesday, an accident between a motorcycle and car occurred on Highway 122 (4th Street SW) and Pierce Avenue on the corner of the Walgreen’s Store parking lot.
Before the paramedics arrived, the male who had been on the motorcycle had his shoe was off and his ankle area was bleeding. He was heard saying, “I had the right away. I hit the brake, but knew I couldn’t stop in time. I didn’t want to hit the car, so I dumped the bike. I landed on my right ankle and shattered it.”
The Mason City Fire Department and Ambulance showed up shortly after that. They bandaged and supported his ankle then took him to Mercy Medical Center.
