A driver from Illinois was attempting to pass a vehicle driven by 53 year-old Bobbie Graham of Klemme on I-35 southbound near the 196.85 mile marker, two miles north of Clear Lake, when the Illinois driver sideswiped Graham’s 2002 Ford Focus, sending both cars to the west ditch.

The Illinois driver, 30 year-old Nathan Hess, who was driving a 2000 Ford Focus, made contact with the front left panel of Graham’s vehicle. Both vehicles then went into the west ditch, where Hess’ vehicle rolled and came to rest on its wheels. Graham’s vehicle remained upright.

Both driver’s were wearing seat belts and were uninjured.

BHess’ Focus sustained about $4,000 in damage, while Graham’s Focus sustained about $3,000 in damage.|
