WAUKEE – Police were called to a home in this Des Moines suburb where they discovered a young man suffering from fatal stab wounds and a teen suspect was taken to jail.
On Monday, August 5, 2024 at approximately 11:29 am Waukee Police and Fire personnel responded to a reported stabbing incident in the 600 block of Prairie Park Lane in Waukee. Officers and Medics arrived at the scene and found Brian McGee, a 23-year-old male resident of Waukee, had suffered stab wounds during an altercation at the residence. McGee was transported by Waukee Fire Department personnel to a Des Moines hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
A 16-year-old male resident of Waukee has been arrested in connection with the incident.
The Waukee Police Department is working with the Dallas County Attorney’s Office on appropriate charges to be filed. With the suspect in this case being a juvenile, the Waukee Police Department is not releasing his name.
The incident was isolated in nature and related to a single residence within the City of Waukee.
